Frequently asked questions
The things customers ask most about fast-turnaround cutting. Can't see your answer? Call 01264 527 017 or email [email protected].
How does next-day actually work?
Order before 9am on a working day and, once your file is reviewed and the material's in stock, we cut and dispatch the same day for next-working-day delivery — or you can collect from Andover. Orders after the cut-off, or that need finishing or special material, move to the next slot; we'll always confirm the turnaround with your firm price. Full detail on the turnaround page.
What file formats do you accept?
DXF and DWG are ideal — they carry the exact cut geometry, so we can quote and cut straight from your file with no delay. We also take PDF, STEP and clear photos or sketches. No drawing? We run a full CAD service and can produce a cut-ready file from a sketch, a sample part or an old print.
What materials and thicknesses can you cut?
Mild steel and stainless up to 20mm, aluminium up to 15mm and brass up to 10mm, with a maximum part size of 2995×1495mm. Grades include CR4/S275 mild steel, 304/316 stainless, 1050/5251/5083 aluminium and CZ108 brass. Full detail on the materials page.
Is there a minimum order?
No minimum quantity — order a single rush replacement part or a short run. A £5 minimum order charge applies, and prices are shown ex-VAT with 20% VAT added at checkout.
Does finishing affect the turnaround?
It can. A flat cut part is fastest. Folding, welding or powder coating adds a step or two, so a finished part usually needs a little longer than next-day — we'll tell you the realistic turnaround when we confirm your price. See our capabilities.
Can I supply my own material?
Yes — drop off your own sheet and we'll cut it, or we'll cut from our stock. We hold a wide range so most jobs can go straight through; if we need to source a special grade, that may move the job off same-day, and we'll flag it.
Can I collect instead of having it delivered?
Yes. Collect from Unit 4 Brunel Gate, West Portway, Andover, by arrangement — handy if you're local and need parts the same afternoon. Otherwise we dispatch by courier for next-working-day delivery.
Will you check my drawing before cutting?
Always — even on a rush. An engineer reviews every file for cut-path issues, confirms nesting and material stock, and flags anything that needs a tweak before anything is cut. Nothing is committed until you approve the price and turnaround.
Not in a rush — can you still help?
Of course. We cut standard-lead-time work too, and our established sister company Andover Laser handles larger production runs and full fabrication. Same workshop, same kit — just pick the service that fits.
Still have a question?
Send your drawing for an instant price, or just get in touch — we'll come straight back.
